Not your Grandma's quilting

I am falling in love with modern quilting.

If you would have asked me about quilting years ago I would have told you it wasn't my thing.  The image I had in my mind of quilters were grandmas making traditional blankets in dull colors and a mishmash fabrics that didn't appeal to me.  I was young and dumb what can I say?

Modern quilting.... what a whole new world this is.  So many bright fun colors, modern prints, and geometric designs.  At times I don't even know where to begin but most recently I had the opportunity to learn a few things from Elizabeth, over at dontcallmebetsy.com  She is super sweet and has a great blog if you're even remotely interested in modern quilting.

This here is my sorta finished piece.  I messed up along the way and it is far from perfect but I am so happy with it.  I will probably turn it into a pillow but for now I just like to stare at it.
